Why should you buy a Helio 4 stroke Motorized Bike?

Helio Motorized Bicycles has received numerous questions on the 2 stroke motor versus the 4 stroke. Why should you go with the 4 stroke Motor Bike? What are the differences in power, weight, dependability, etc?

First of all lets all be honest here; the 2 stroke is a better looking motor when you look at it. Mostly because it is smaller and adheres to the lines of the bike more thus, making it look more like a mini motorcycle. That’s great and everything but there are more important things at stake like dependability.

Lets start with the 2 stroke. The main downfall of the 2 stroke is vibration and heat. The nature of the motor is very simple as there is no valves to let the gas in and exhaust out. These ports are built inside the motor casing so there is less moving parts but also less control. 2 stroke motors can produce a lot of power when tuned correctly but will always require a mechanical assistance when things rattle loose or burn up after 30 minutes of wide open throttle. And one more thing, lets face it, everyone hates mixing gas!

Moving on to the 4 stroke. We use Honda, Subaru and Heushang 4 stroke motors on all Helio bikes. The nature of the Four stroke Bike is more controlled as there are valves that control the inflow and outflow of the mixture/exhaust. The 4 stroke has more torque and is a lot more quiet. There is a oil reservoir so you do not have to add oil to your gas which means you can pull up to a gas station and pay the $2.00 USD to fill up ( good for about 75 miles). 4 strokes don’t heat up and you can pretty much ride them forever.

The vibrations are less because the motor is more stable which makes for a more comfortable ride. Also we use an USA made gearbox to transfer power with a huge centrifugal(throttle and go) clutch to make your powertrain endure years of riding. The 4 stroke is just a more dependable setup hands down.

We at Helio are moving in the direction of 4 strokes only and will be no longer dealing with the 2 strokes at all. We will still provide parts but will not be producing any 2 stroke production bikes. Check out our new line of Honda and Subaru powered motor bikes! We will continue to hone in on the perfect setup!
